  • 2019 R2 + CMMVe problems

I create a new topic because the previous title was SP1, so this one is only 2019 R2, and be able to have a long life .

    2019 R2 SP2 :
During the optical calibration, you have to center the camera on concentric circles (Hexagon glass artifact).
The focus is mesured, and at the end, the cmm doesn't move to the focus position : is it a new parameter ?

During the optical calbration, the cmm moves in x and y at a very very slow speed (about 0.25 mm / s), it looks like the focus speed.
Is there a setting to change it ?

That's all for about 1 hour of tests, the rotary turns .

    Happy week-end, all !

    What calibration are you running?

With the cmmve, i have 3 calibrations available (don't know about optiv)
Light calibration, with a white sheet of paper
      Optical calibration (with the glass)
      offset calibration (with a ring)

This which doesn't work fine is optical calibration.
First, I center on concentric circles (here, there's the focus position problem).
Then, I center on squares, the camera search the alignment of "squared edges", and then goes to little lines to calculate rotation alignment of the cmmve.
Those moves are uncredibly slow !

For the offsets, I use a "personal" program (I think it's posted here) which allows calibrating different angles of the cmmve on a sphere.
This prog didn't work on SP1 but works fine on SP2

I have those three calibrations as well. Can try and test it. My personal probe offset auto calibration program doesn't work for any 2019 R2 releases, and is confirmed a bug by Hexagon.

        Maybe related???

Problem solved today, but I don't know why...
Maybe a restart of the PC ? Or the benefit of a week-end

            I have a new problem since the installation of 2019 R2 SP2, 2017 R2 and 2018 R2 open a window "CMMV Controller : fatal error !"
Then I can open a prog, but I can't set the light, even if I use the previous def of the cmmv.
            Any thought ?

            Hi Jeffman

Regarding the Slow Move during the Optical Calibration, I believe you are are seeing an issue we recently identified and fixed. I believe this fix is scheduled for the next SP. If it is the same issue, the slow moves go away if the setting Move to Focus Position is enabled in F5 Settings. This setting was incorrectly affecting the behaviour of the calibration
