  • 4.0,4.1 on faro?

Is anyone using version 4.0 or 4.1 with a faro arm? I have had nothing but troubles. I installed the hot fix from wilcox and it still crashes out very easily. I believe it could be my PC, it is a panansonic toughbook. The processor is a pentium M 1400 mhz, and has 256 MB memory. I think this is way to weak to be running cad files in Pc-Dmis, but my boss blew a rod when I asked for a new PC or upgrade and told me to make it work so I am looking for any help I can get. thanks in advance

Also I have a ATI RADION 9000 Graphics card. I do not remember if this is not a good card for pcdmis or not. time to research.

256MB is not good enough. 512MB as a minimum, or 1Gig+ is recommended. Also, the ATI card is not the best solution either. If you are stuck with ATI, download the latest driver from ATI's website. My laptop is ATI and it was unstable for over a year. Grabbed the latest drivers last month, and the software is stable again.

        Mike,

I have a FARO Arm also, luckily I am running Cam2 on it. I have often wondered how PC-Dmis would work on it. Do you have it all figured out? What's the latest?

I have never used the cam2 program so I can't compare them but Pcdmis works o.k once you have fine tuned everything. I think we a staying at vers3.7 right now, it just works better. they added a feature call any order execution and that really messed things up for us so we just decided to stay away from 4.0+ for now.

Just chiming in here... I am sure you probably know this. Make sure OpenGL is running on your ATI card. Reboot and see if it works.
