  • Alignment Problem

We have a program that we have checked over 100 times and cannot figure out the alignment problem. We can run it from the beginning and it will run completely through with an iterative alignment to the tooling balls. When you try to run the program from that point without doing another alignment (if_go to) it says 'Machine out of parameter. We are using a gage with tooling balls set to Car position. We have several hundred programs and no other problems. We have deleted and copied and checked it numerous times and cannot find the problem. You can start it after the alignment and not from startup and it will run fine. It has to be something simple. It is beyond me. Thanks in advance.

I've found that PCDMIS sometimes changes your x,y,z values on features or move points, due to alignment chagnes etc. Machine out of parameter? The probe must be moving to a point out of the normal space. Edit your alignments and edit your features to make sure PCDMIS is not adding x,y,z values into them. If it is, just change em back to 0,0,0.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

      Just a guess.

You say start at a point (if_goto). What if it is not carrying the alignment over from that point. What If immediately after if_goto Label You tried Recalling the iteriative alignment as the first line of code. Wouldn't hurt to try. Might work.

        Parmeter range

Try to put the fixture in the same spot or close to , where first you did the program , this happened to me when I put the fixture far away on one side of the cmm , and you have some long travel move points, when the machine move to any point which will be fall out of the machine range due to new position of fixture ,will give you this messege.

        Thanks.

Go to edit>preferences>setup, and make sure that the check box for find nominals or find nominals during execution is not checked.

            Alignment Problem

It is just a freak thing in the alignment. We set-up the gage in the same spot every time. I recalled the aligment after my label and it works. It is our only alignment problem out of nearly two hundred programs. I have learned that when you find a fix it is easier sometime not to think about it anymore. The parts we measure on the gage comes up every couple months and it has been the same for a year or so. Thanks for all of your help.

              Reset Globals on Branching

Go to edit - preferences - Settings and see if the one called "Reset Globals on Branching" is enabled for that program. . .
