  • Point of interest (Non-CMM)

I was entereing 2 new Mitutoyo depth micrometers on my gage system, and I noticed a new section on the instruction sheet called "Export Control Compliance" which states "The goods, technologies or software described herein may be subject to National, or International, or Japanese Export Controls. To export directly or indirectly such material without due approval from the appropriate authorities may therefore be a breach of export control regulations and the law." KNOD, KNOD, WINK, WINK!!!!! Well, at least I now know that I might be breaking a law somewhere if I send these depth mics to Libya!!!!!

    Steven,

This is probably a result of Mitutoyo getting in trouble for breaking some export laws in Japan. I don't know the exact details, but they shipped CMM's and technology to countries that were not "approved". Click here to find a thread that discussed this.

When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.
