  • Datapage question

I am still fairly new to PC-DMIS and the boss wants outputs that he can plug into SPC data. I have heard a little about DATAPAGE, but am not familiar.

Can someone tell me how to activate the datapage function, and what it will do for me.

User friendly?? Editing for SPC?? Etc.

    Thanks
    Jim

    JTNOTCH,

Go to the post "looping Program" by djayne, and go to the 2nd page I just posted a .zip file the has the beginning and the end you need. I also has other datapage code in it. I really don't use datapage for my stats, I use excel or minitab. I like datapage because I can dump anything out to excel and most stuff is compatible w/ excel so I can copy and paste from there.

Can Excel or other program be tied to PC DMIS to automatically dump stats in at and of program?
I don't necessarily care about datapage, as long as I can set up some link that accomplishes the purpose.

Yes you can, you can do a search for datapage and it will find all the post w/ datapage in them. There is a lot.

"Export Results" (at the bottom of this page) may give you some answers of who can help w/ that. Craiger, Matt or Kbotta maybe able to help. They seem really good at this type of stuff.

If you have datapage it is easy to transfer into excel, that is what I do. You get a column/row format. I can do anything I want from there just about. I used minitab for my spc at other places.

You may want to look into the purchase of DATAPAGE. If you read the posts that have talked about DATAPAGE, you will see that it works extremely well with PC-DMIS. With the use of DATAPAGE you don't have to do alot of manipultaion to get the the end results you are looking for. Just an opinion.

Datapage works well with PCDMIS. Having said that it does not mean it works well, it simply works most of the time. There is other SPC software that kills Datapage (Lighthouse, Minitab et.al). Datapage may be cost effective though and it is simple to use. Bear in mind the software has not been touched in years. Its bugs have not been fixed, it has not been enhanced or updated nothing. Now B&S CMM distributors are promoting QC Calc. Is the writing on the wall for Datapage? I say yes, but that is my opinion. If I am over ruled on that go with other's opinion as I may be the only one that feals that way.

Actually any bugs should be reported so they can be fixed. Datapage is currently at 3.33 I think.

                  Datapage Question

I received this Zip file from someone on-line somewhere. With a little tinkering and stuff, I was able to use it to create all of my reports in Excel.
                  Works great. Hope this helps
