    What is datapage's native language?
I am about to purchase some transducer gages and I need to store and retrive serialized part data at the machine. A portable cmm is far too costly. Any ideas?

The gentleman you need to speak to is Chuck Burbank; he is a member of the Wilcox team.

      A long time ago. . .

There used to be a product called DataGage, which sounds like exactly what you wanted. It exists no more. It would read data from gages and store it into DataPage. It had a front end to guide the user in taking data as well.

That said, you might be able to make use of DataPage's macro functions, perhaps importing ASCII text files of data from the devices. Or, you could use PC-DMIS File I/O commands to read data in and then created and dimension Generic features, sending the results to DataPage. Optionally, you might be able to create a file that matches the format of the XSTATS11 file, and cause it to be updated. There are several ways, but none direct that I can think of.

I am not sure, but I think you can use those data readers and excel. Someone once told me you could set it up that way, but I was never showed how. Excel CAN do all the stat calculations you need.
