  • Data Page help

I'm new to using data page and I have found some major weaknesses in this program unless I am doing something wrong. What I am trying to do is statistical analysis on 30 pieces. If found that if you report a feature more than once, it will not put both into Data Page. for example, if you have 2 profile callouts to the same feature, one to the datums and one for form only, Data Page will only record the last of the two reports for profile on that feature. Am I right? I suppose I can create a new feature from the original and report it for the second profile. Another similar situation is if you want to report true position of a hole and also the X and Y position using a +/- tolerance, the X and Y portion of the true position will overwrite the X and Y dimensions previously reported, except without a tolerance which messes up the statistical calculation for each of those dimensions. I found that reversing the order in which I report these (put TP first and then report X and Y) Are there any other weaknesses I need to look out for? I had to run 30 pieces on a long program before discovering these. PC-DMIS 3.5MR2 Data Page 3.32

Use Dimension Name vs. Use Feature Name
Dimensions are unique (or should be). PCDMIS tells datapage which name to use via the STATS command. Yes - if there are duplicate names the last one into the database 'wins'.

Great! Thanks! That solves having to plan ahead and add extra features or change the order of reporting. I knew someone would have a solution.

Hey, I also noticed in Data Page a dimension I did not recognize. When reporting a true position, along with D, DF, TP, X, Y it gave a B dimension, which is not in the PC-DMIS report. What is B and where did it come from?

That makes sense except that I wasn't reporting MMC. I guess it's always there and it goes to Data Page even if it not reported in PC-DMIS.

I think that ANYTHING that could POSSIBLY have a bonus value automatically gets sent to Datapage by Pcdmis, no matter if it is part of the dimension or not.
