  • Auto Probe Changer Help

    Hi guys,

I'm running PCDMIS v3.72 MR1 using a Sheffield Discovery with a 6 changer rack. I've got the changer calibrated and works fine. I want to have a way to change the probes "between" programs automatically instead of having to choose which probe it has at the moment.

Is there a way to save which probe was used last? And is there a way to recall this information so that the program would automatically know where to put the current probe and get the new one?

Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks.

    Not that I know of

I use two 6 slot racks, one for the TP200 & one for the TP20. As far as I know there is no way for pc-dmis to remember which probe is current between programs. But when you execute a new program it asks what the current probe is, all you have to do is select it from the pulldown window and pc-dmis will then drop it off and load the correct probe. I have never really felt this to be an incovienence. HTH

I figured that. Maybe they should implement it into the next update for PCDMIS.

Main reason I'm asking is to make life easier for the inspectors and to eliminate error.

      Thanks for the fast reply.

Another option here is to have PC-DMIS "dump" the probe at the end of every program. Then you can start every program with an empty wrist. No matter which probe is needed for the next program, it doesn't need to be concerned about where to put the old one.

        Would this help you?
