I am at 3.5MR2 are there any reason why I should go to 4.0? I haven't heard much good about it. I noticed some people are not even up to 3.5MR2 and do not have problems. I don't have any problems with 3.5MR2 but I am just now at the point were I have time to learn new things about it. We went from wiring harness to injection molding. I wish they made a PCDMIS for dummies. I can't always interpret the help files. This forum has been more help than those to me.

Do it. You can always reload 3.5Mr2. I feel you should stay at the front, state of the art. Now everyone will agree with me. I love to learn new, keeps the job interesting. And If you ever get that great job offer out there, and they are running 4.0 and its the one you always wanted. but someone else knows 4.0, You may not get the job. DO it. DO it.sigpicSummer Time. Gotta Love it!

Not Sure I agree, but
Paul,
Not sure I agree this time with you. If the version they are using works, and they know the little quirks that version has, why fix it if it ain't broke ?
I still use ver 3.25mr3 and can do anything a new version can, except for a couple little bells and whistles. We train ppl in 3.7, its not that different.
Would I hire someone that used Ver 4 over someone that used ver 3.5, no.
It wouldn't make any difference, unless they both had the EXACT same skills, attitude and personalities...Ver 4 is not that different, except for the reporting stuff, WHY DO THEY SCREW WITH THINGS THAT WORK JUST FINE ???????
Off my horse now.

Just because my old car runs good, why buy a new one? I dont buy that as a reason to stay with the old software. And I was picked over someone else, whom they say we both were neck and neck. But they wanted someone coming in and running, They knew about the learning curves of other software updates from priop Programmers. And they did not have the time to give to that. They wanted someone who could go right to work, not come there and learn. Just me. I myself think that 3.2063 is the best ever. but when a company buys a new CMM, They are not getting that software.sigpicSummer Time. Gotta Love it!

I had training from Scott and yourself. I am Greg from Gadsden. The Baylor Bear is my son. I have a copy of 4.0 but Heidi wanted to check it out before we used it. She doesn't work for this company anymore so I was looking to the Experts for help. I have been checking out the forum to try to pick up some new things. I finnaly got rid of my Ohio support, now I can become more than a glorified part checker. I am the coordinator now for our CMM Lab. It is back down to Tami and I from four that we had. Thank goodness for budget cuts in this case. The other two cost us allot of money to fix our machines.REVERSE, REVERSE, REVERSE
