  • Probe problems

    our nightshift guy had a bad crash yesterday... we replaced the tp2 and tip today and went to calibrate our tips and had no issues. When I did a part check pcdmis reports the part out by 1mm when its really not out..... here's the twister.... ill check a different job and i have no issues... ???? any ideas?

          You might try adding a probe calibration right into the program that is giving you the error.

              Did you re-calibrate the entire tool changer ???

                    Exactly 1 mm off? Sounds like it could be a probe compensation problem.

                        This will sound stupid but I had an issue with one of our CMM's reporting a dia under size but the same part on a diffrent CMM showed the dia in spec. Turned out the larger machine needed a larger pre hit to correctly measure the turn.

                          Something still does not sound right. 1 mm is a lot of difference between machines...something is not adding up....
