  • JUMPING TOOL BARS

    Hey all,
Isn't there a way to lock down the toolbars, so that they don't move around?

Seems like there was in V2.603, but I can't find it anywhere in V3.7 MR3

right click on toolbar area, select (tick) windows layouts, click on the little disk icon and enter an ID (your initials?) to recover that layout just click on the new icon that appears

I can't wait to try this, man, I am so sick of moving them back!

I wish it were that easy. I've recreated so many times i quit trying. I now just save over the top of one of the default icons. seems to work alittle better. 3.7 mr3

Thanks NinjaBadger. I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work, how do I save it over one of the default icons Mike?

First get your tool bars exactly where you want them, then close PC-DMIS. In your PC-DMIS folder there is a folder for your username. In that folder right click on the gbarstate.dat file, go to properties and make it read only. Your bars will still jump around, but if you close your program and re-open it they will go back where they were. I find that they go all wacky when I have PC-DMIS minimized when a program finishes. Saving layouts did not work for me. HTH.

Right click on one of the default icons and select "OK". you can't change the name.

                  My solution

I solved the 3.7 MR3 toolbar fiasco by editing the default toolbars to include the extras I wanted. Go : View > Toolbars > Customize
Then in the window choose tab "Toolbars"
Above the right column is there is a pulldown bar with
all the default bars listed. Choose the one you want to
edit, in the column on the left browse to the item you
want to add, highlight it and click the top button in
middle, "add". If there are things in the default bar
do not use, you can remove them in the same way by
highlighting the item and using the "remove" button.
When you have the toolbar the way you want it click
"Apply" at the bottom of the window.
When you have all the toolbars the way you want them save the screen layout. Only on occasion do my bars get scrambled now, and I just click my saved layout icon and all is good with the world for 30 seconds or so until the next issue arises. HTH
