  • Not Recognizing Alignment???

    Have a look at my code for LIN5 and see if you can spot a reason why it won't measure in the correct spot. The movepoints go to the correct spot. LIN7 measures in the right spot. LIN5 is trying to measure where LIN5 was during the last execution (original part program was written on).

    Code:
    MOVE/POINT,NORMAL,-0.83,-0.68,0.15
                MOVE/POINT,NORMAL,0,0,0.15
    LIN5       =AUTO/LINE,SHOWALLPARAMS = NO,SHOWHITS = YES
                THEO/0.5,0.55,-0.05,0.1,0.55,-0.05,0.4
                ACTL/15.1282,17.8262,-22.1435,14.7288,17.808,-22.1434,0.3998481
                TARG/0.5,0.55,-0.05,0.1002,0.55,-0.05
                MEAS/LINE
                HIT/BASIC,0.5,0.505,-0.05,0,-1,0,0.5433,-0.0092,-0.0504
                HIT/BASIC,0.1,0.505,-0.05,0,-1,0,0.1441,0.0133,-0.0504
                ENDMEAS/
    LIN7       =AUTO/LINE,SHOWALLPARAMS = NO,SHOWHITS = YES
                THEO/-0.05,0.43,-0.05,-0.19,0.17,-0.05,0.2953
                ACTL/-0.0471,0.4288,-0.0498,-0.1948,0.1729,-0.0498,0.2954471
                TARG/-0.05,0.43,-0.05,-0.1901,0.1699,-0.05
                MEAS/LINE
                HIT/BASIC,-0.05,0.43,-0.05,0.8805,-0.4741,0,-0.0477,0.4277,-0.0498
                HIT/BASIC,-0.19,0.17,-0.05,0.8805,-0.4741,0,-0.1954,0.1719,-0.0499
                ENDMEAS/
    P.S. I've already done a complete shutdown/restart. Everything else in the program measures as it should no matter where on the table I place the part. LIN5 keeps going back to the same spot!

    EDIT - Look at the actuals. They appear to be in machine coordinates instead of alignment coordinates???

    Not sure this will help, but try having it SHOWALLPARAMS, maybe something will catch your eye then.....

      Still don't see anything.

      Code:
      LIN5       =AUTO/LINE,SHOWALLPARAMS = YES,SHOWHITS = YES

                  TARG/0.5,0.55,-0.05,0.1002,0.55,-0.05
                  THEO_THICKNESS = 0,RECT,BND,ONERROR = NO,$
                  AUTO MOVE = NO,DISTANCE = 0,RMEAS = None,None,None,$
                  NUMHITS = 2,DEPTH = 0,$
                  EDGE VEC = 0,-1,0
                  MEAS/LINE
                  HIT/BASIC,0.5,0.505,-0.05,0,-1,0,0.5433,-0.0092,-0.0504
                  HIT/BASIC,0.1,0.505,-0.05,0,-1,0,0.1441,0.0133,-0.0504

          Was this portion copied from another program and then pasted in?
          Lately, it occurs to me
          What a long, strange trip it's been.

            Open the program in offline mode, run it through, resave it. Should be ok after that. Something is not right in the part program database.

              Nope. It was created from scratch using information on the print.

                Thanks, I'll try that in the AM. I have relenquised control of the machine to recieving inspection for the day.

                  I had the same problem but with it executing dimensions that it should skip because of a conditional I added. (If.... end/if ).
                  I ended up cutting them and then re-pasting them back, and now it works fine.

                    try changing the number of hit to 3 or 4...this should force the theoreticles and the actuals to match each other...then change back to your 2 hits if that is all that you want

                    your actuals needs to be closer to the theoreticle in order to probe properly

                    or

                    if this line was manually probed initially...edit and check the "regenerate hits" and click OK

                      I had some issues with auto lines in V3.7 changing hit vectors on part runs and gave up on using this funtion. Now using new versions and still not willing to attemp to use them as its not much more work to use individual points and construct line.

                        Tried it, didn't help.

                        Actuals should have nothing to do with how the feature executes. If I place the part on the front of the table the program should run the same as if I place the part on the back of the table.

                        I wrote this section of the program before I had a part. I usually use 'learned' lines.

                        Problem is solved - sort of. I simply replaced the feature with a new one and deleted the problem feature. I still would like to know why it didn't work but it is probably just the demon.

                          When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.
