  • Question about PCDMIS 3.7MR3

Good morning everyone. I installed ver 3.7mr3 on saturday and I have something that keeps happening, and I don't know if it is a problem or just me. When I create a new program and take a single point and press done the background of my graphics screen goes BLACK. After I measure the next point everything goes back to normal, and then I can see my first point. I have auto scale to fit marked in the the setup. It seems like the size of the first point comes in very large and it is not using the auto scale to fit, until I do the next feature.
Also when I open a program the graphics on my screen is showing up larger than my screen, and not using the auto scale to fit. Neither of these are a big problem but very anoying. If my first feature in a program is anything other than a single point everything is ok, except the size of my graphics when I first open a program.
    Any Ideas?

It is scaling to fit and the only feature you have is a point so it takes up the whole screen. I belive you can change the scale to fit under the F5 settings. But as far as the whole not scaling when you open a program goes I don't know. I have the same issue.

My scale factor is at 1 and it is turned on. In 3.5mr2 it works just fine!! Every time you upgrade PCDMEON It gets ugly. I also have trouble with my custom tool bars. If I use the same ones that I had in 3.5 I get doubles of everything in my tool bars. If I delete any of the doubles in any of the toolbars it hoses PCDMIS and I get 4 extra levels of toolbar lines in my programs that It won't let me remove. and they have nothing in them. This is just one more agravation thats b***s***

Amen, I am not glad you are going through it brother. I'm just glad I'm not the only one. I even have this very special deal where the marked sets window taunts and haunts me and I don't even use marked sets. Wait 'til that one creeps up on you (by the way I am still looking for a cause and fix for that one).

To fix the tool bar issue, you have to :

          1) Make the custom tool bars in V3.5
          2) Copy every file in the same folder as the GBARSTAT file from V3.5 to the same folder in the V3.7 install
          3) Leave the tool bars in V3.7 alone

            Settings Editor

You could try shutting down PC-DMIS and starting the PC-DMIS settings editor. When the settings editor starts, find "Draw points as spheres", change the size setting to zero.

Matt I did use the gbarstat.dat file from 3.5 from the start and I still had doubles of everything. Also this file does not have the toolbars in it that I created. So when I create my 1st toolbar I get hosed. Here Is what happens I create the toolbars that I want save my settings and everything looks great. then I close the program and re-open it. When It re-opens everything moves arround. then I select the icon that is my saved settings and everything is fine again. Then when I close the program and PCDMIS, and then re-start PCDMIS everything is messed up, even my saved settings. They are sc***ed up.

                toolbars in MR3

I found I could not create any custom toolbars from scratch in MR3, but I *was* able to modify some of the stock toolbars to remove things I did not need and add things I use all the time. For example my dimension toolbar has parameters, create pattern, and paste with pattern tacked onto the end. Once I had the stock bars modified to suit me, I saved the view and have had no problems since. HTH
