  • Man Retract & Fly Mode

I am used to a Starrett CMM to where manual retract is a given. B&S machines apparently aren't this way. Looks like you have to turn it on to make it work. I have it in the top of my program, but it still does't work. What could I be doing wrong?

Also, you can't use fly mode on Starrett CMM's. I am also trying to use this now. It is checked under parameters and is also in the top of all my programs. Can someone give me some pointers on this as well?

MAN-RETRACT is not an option, will not even work. Sorry! You'll have to back off by hand!

FLY mode will not work on all controllers, the B&S Sharpe32 will NOT do fly mode.

I was kinda thinking from training at B&S that it wouldn't back off, but I had a sales guy tell me that it would. Guess they will tell you anything to get a sale.

Yeah, we have an old Excel. Hopefully, that's subject to change.
