  • Cad to Part

    Hi all,

After probing a cad model, where do put an alignment of the part so the machine will probe the real part?

    Thanks, Bob

What version of the software are you running? Have you had any training?
You could use an iterative alignment.

It would be helpful if you included more information.

Do you have picture of the alignment to show us? It would be easier to tell you how to do this. But you put alignment right after you take your features for alignment?

        I'm using 4.1 between crashes.

I found this in a post that came up as a reference to my post. Worked fine I was trying to make it to complicated I guess

        Ok you need the shizz:
        1) Start your Pc-dmis program with the CAD Model first.
        2) Program your manual hits as programed from off the model (offline style).
        3) START THE PROGRAM, follow the programmed manual alignments hits, go DCC and smile.
        4) Regardless of the cad alignment this will work and it will put you origin where YOU want it!!
        5) Buy me lunch.
