serialization error

v3.5 got a serialization-error when trying to open program. And yes I had a backup minus a few tweeks. I got lucky this time.

I am using V3.7MR3 and get the dreaded serialization error every day. If I am running any program and using a linear open scan using my TP25M, if that scan stops before it finishes for any reason, generally when the part is incorrect, i.e. misses the part or hits too early I get the serialization error every single time. Shuts PC Dmis down, chops the end of the program off and I have to copy the backup over the top of it.

Reported to Hexagon numerous times with no help whatsoever, have tried the alleged hotfix that supposedly corrects it but to no avail.

Certainly pi**es me right off. Gonna try V4.2 MR1 and see if it still happens in there

What happened is I went to lunch came back and my pc win xp went into a sleep mode or whatever. and I had a choce of logging back in or turn off. I choose turn off. A message came up - there are other poeple loged onto your computer and they may loose data if you continue. I never seen this before, I said ok restart.
Well I may have left PcDmis and the program open during lunch,I don't normaly. I now have a zero byte program file now. this is a 2 year old progam probably made in same version.
When trying to open i get Serialization error.
but backup saved me from making a new program.

We get the same error quite often. We are running a modified launcher version. there does not appear to be a pattern that I can discern. When the demon rears it ugly head, I draw a pentagram on the floor, click my heels twice, and restore a backup copy from the mainframe.

MeGoetz what do you mean, a modified launcher version? It sounds like we have a similar problem, I too use a custom front end to start, run and close PC Dmis. Wonder if this could be part of the problem ?
