What is the best way to generate a series of points, at a common level with equal spacing?

For example I have a section of a cone and I would like to measure 50 pts at +.100 z, then 50 more at +.500 z, then 50 more at +1.000 z.

I want single pts. I do not have scanning

What Kass said!! You can do circular patterns like you want to do. One of the best functions is paste with pattern IMO
