  • Strange Calibration Issue

    I just calibrated a tip (8x50mm) in the A0B0 and everything looks great. I had .00006 STD.

    All my other tips are longer than 100mm and every tip is being reported as exceeding limit. All tips are being calibrated at 1% touch speed.

    Can anyone tell me what you are setting your parameters at for tips longer than 100mm. My longest is at 150mm. Is it a deflection issue? Should I adjust my trigger force?
    I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

    On my XCEL12-20-10 I use a touch speed of .75 and most of my probes are longer than 100mm.
    I have a tp200 also on this machine.
    on the Global I have a SP600 and the touch speed is .5 on it.
    have you ever done a lower matrix calibration on your SP600. It is located in the probe calibration window. This might help.
    When you do it use your 8x50mm as it is the most rigid one that you probably have.

        With my SP600M im using a 5mm/sec Touch Speed. 25 hits 4 levels

        For StDev I have my warning setup at .01

        Probe Options:
        Max Force 0.3N
        Low Force 0.06N
        Upper Force 0.18N
        Trigger Force 0.12N

            'exceeding limit' ??? diameter or stdev?

            Did you check to make sure they are clean and tight?

              Low level matrix is a calibration to compenate for errors within the analog probe itself.

                Just did a lower level matrix calibration using 8x50mm and says my cal diameter exceeds limit
                I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

                  In that case, double check your probe build to ensure that the tip diameter is as it should be. Also, you may want to check your cal. sphere definition to ensure it is defined properly for those probes.

                      The tips are built correctly as far as I know. And the Cal sphere dia. is set to exactly as what is on the cal sphere.

                          nope - sorry.

                          wait - yes - I think this is a user editable setting. Does it tell you what diameter it is getting for each of the tips? Are they the same and your short tip is set with a greater tolerance than the others?

                              Tips are carbon and ceramic. Cal tool is ceramic.
