I did that a long time ago. It should tell you on your print how far out of the hole or whatever it is, your reference length of this cylinder should be. If it doesn't then default to the length of your cylinder check. Also, the print should tell you how it needs to be checked, such as axial average, etc. If it doesn't , default to axis average.
