Is this a common occurance?

On Wednesday afternoon I was supposed to receive parts for layout. It's now Friday and I'm just starting to layout these parts which arrived today after lunch. As an added bonus this information has to be ready for Monday. So I have to decide, burn the midnight oil and get as much done as I can or do I come in on Saturday.

That's very much a common occurance for me. By now anything different would probably not feel normal. On the other hand I'm thankfull I have parts to check.

Here it is a way of life, Its got to be assembled ans shipped TODAY!!! so get the inspection done. My response lately has been " per AS9100, Our internal Quality Systems Manual, and our internal quality procedures we are bound by a sampling plan to perform a product inspection, we need time to do that, you are not suggesting that I skip any part of these requirements are you?" The answer is always NO and they go away and we do our jobs.
