  • How Do You...

    Just wanted to know:

I had to check a finished part that had been broached at the tip. But I had no clue how to check the feature as a whole--only as 4 lines. How do you create a square out of line features?
I feel a lot better now that I've lost my mind.

Why would you need to create a square?
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

Try using planes and points. You can get 3D angles from plane to plane. And from using the Planes and points you can get sizes using 3D distances. You could also just use Surface points and tolerance the T-Value and dimension the T-Values as a Surface Profile.

Put a circle inside your square then measure the area in each corner of the square & this will tell you how much room you have after inserting a cicle inside your square.....

Sorry.........Lots of Pumpkin Ale last night......

I had to find out how square the square was, and I had to find out where the center of it was in respect to the outer edges of the part. And I figured the best way of finding out if the broach was square--easier than measuring the angles from line to line, line to line, line to line, and line to line--was to check how square the square was. But I didn't know how to make those 4 lines a square feature.
