  • Probe and hand controller change directions

Has anyone seen this? I have a newer b&s Vento, Basic hand controller. For no reason, my direction control is lost. exmple, Right is not Left, Forward is now Backwards, I do not believe the up/down is affected. So what I have to do is close pcdmis and return????????????? Is this a systom of something bad to follow?????

Is there a button on the controller that lets you switch between ALIGNMENT axis and MACHINE axis movement? THere is on some, I don't know if yours has this option. PCS/MCS something like that?

Has someone messed with the machine axis settings in your PCDMis?

No, while I am programming, everything is fine, then the next feature I take and try to move the probe with the hand held controller, is assbackwards. I close pcmis and reopen and it, its back to normal?

Well, this is Winstons old machine. And he's gone. Maybe there some wierd going on here. Maybe there one. Maybe there has never been a Winston and its been my COMPUTER all along, now its angered, and its just showing me who is in CONTROL, I mean a computer can erase someone.

I've seen this and it's always been that I accidentially hit the JOG MODE button on the jog box. Make sure that the MACH light is illuminated if it happens again. This is the same thing that Matt asked up above, but I thought I'd clarify it just a bit.

Does the joystick follow the current coordinate system. for exampel does the DRO follow the joystick or the cmm?? I think Matt was onto it earlier.

No the joystick does not follow current. I think bill hit it, it has a top right section section called jog mode, with three lights, 1 probe 2 part 3 mach, I never pay any attention to them, But while this is happining lately it is moving in part axis, the way I explained it. After this run I will try and let all know.

Maybe WINSTON is a lot like HAL. That would explain it - or maybe it's the jog mode.
