  • Straightness callout

I have a straightness callout on my print. Lets say the part is a 4” square piece of steel. This is the only callout on the print. Would you do an alignment just to square the part up and then a line in all 4 sides for the four straightness callouts? How many points would you use for a line? I know straightness is a form callout and I do not need to square it up to the machine but in my opinion you should square up the part when ever possible. I am running 3.5mr2 on a 7-10-7 excel.

    Thanks for the help

Automotive, unwritten' standard is every 10mm. No need to square it up. Get square with plate and it should be OK for machine.
