Just a guess, but you might also check with CMM manufacturer to make sure you have the most appropriate interfac.dll

After 1 update, my Discovery ran at about 1/2 speed until I was sent another interfac from Sheffield. After MR3 however, I was back to slow speeds and pauses but the old DLL's didn't work any more.

Support says they're still working on it...don't call us - we'll call you.

    Anyway, check your interfac.dll

We're also running 3.7 MR1 and had problems (lots) until I adjusted the Windows settings. I'm guessing you got Win XP on your new machine - be sure you have Service Pak 2 downloaded (takes care of most of the Windows bugs) and then go to Control Panel>System>Advanced>Performance Settings>Adjust for best performance. This gives you the Windows NT look and makes a significant difference in how PC-DMIS runs and how graphics are displyed (faster). It also seemed to cut out a lot of error messages.

It sounds like you have too many programs running in the background.

I've noticed also that running programs off the network drive lags the process.

Make sure you have a decent amount of virtual memory...with your 2gigs already i'd set it to 512-1024.

Try changing the video resolution a bit also...smaller? and to 16bit.

MR 1 could be the problem

MR 2 is better and MR 3 is the best as far as 3.7 goes. I realize SMA may be an issue, but if you can get even MR2 you will be much happier. You should be able to download whatever the latest was when your SMA ran out. HTH.

3.7 MR1 Installed on new PC

Finally got my new PC. Installed 3.7 MR1 and I'm starting to see some strange things when programming and executing programs. I am getting pauses (3-5 seconds) in my programs. There is no consistency on where the pauses occur or when they occur. I was not using PC-Dmis when they initially installed 3.7 MR1 on the old computer, so I am not sure if there is something I need to change in my PC-Dmis settings or if something needs changed on the PC.
To me it acts like the CMM has to pause to allow the PC to catch up, or vice versa.
Here are some of the details on the new PC

    Dell Precision PWS 380 tower
Pentium D CPU 3.00 GHz Processor
    2.00Gb of RAM

Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on.
P.S. if you need any more info just let me know.
