  • v4.2 ph10m head rotation problem.

    Hi guys.
I just upgraded to v4.2 and notice that if there is a rotation command in the program like this.

    CLEARP/ZPLUS,-4,XMINUS,-7,ON
    MOVE/CLEARPLANE
    TIP/T1A0B0, SHANKIJK=0, 0, -1, ANGLE=0

The head while moving to the CLEARPLANE will also rotate. Is there a parameter to change it to move to the CLEARPLANE first and then rotate the head to avoid crashing into the table?

    Thanks.

Sounds like you have MOVE ALL turned on somewhere. That is the ONLY way and time it should do that.

I rechecked the and do not see any MOVE ALL code in the program. I did not notice this when I was on v4.1. Do you think this is an enhancement?

Yea sounds like a Move all command. Insert a move point before the clear plane and/or remove the clearplane all together.

What is weird is that the probe head will do the same thing when I am calibrating any probe tip.

I started a new program. Build up a new probe tip and added angles for the head. When I execute the calibrating routine at each angle change the probe head will go up in Z to clear the sphere but will also be rotating the head on the Z move. I did not notice this behavior in v4.1.

Has to be some global setting in v4.2. This is dangerous and should be turned off by default IMO. Would be interesting to find out what's causing this.

Just got an email from Hexagon today. Wilcox programmers wrote a new .dll for my machine. I guess that was the problem with v4.2 on my machine, and hopefully should fix my machine from crashing into the table when rotating.

Do move points & clearplanes play well together now. I was always told don't mix the two....just curious
