I know we bash B&S here and on the other site to some extent so I thought I'd add my recent good experience for a little balance.
We recently installed a new computer for the CMM and I had to download/reinstall 3.7MR3 and MM4 v. 5.03. We have an old horizontal machine and I anticipated problems. I was right we had a variety of issues. Much Thanks to Eric S. at B&S for his help with PCDMIS. Not only did he stick with me thru the whole mess but frequently called back and sent emails until we got it working properly. Also Thanks to Marcia B. for the same help with MM4 Legacy. I thought I might have figured part of the problem out but thanks to her, we were able to get everything up and running with little down time. She called back frequently too and followed up with emails. It was my fault we kept missing each other for a day.
These two were most helpful and pretty much held my hand thru the whole ordeal. This is one instance where my SMA paid off and I was very satisfied.

I've never had to call tech support yet but from the stories I hear on this forum it ain't that great. Glad to hear that yours went well.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

Most of the time when I have called Tech support I have gotten resolution to my problem. Yes, it sometimes does take longer than I have, but when it comes to the nitty gritty technical stuff they can usually get me an answer.

        Yes,

We work on Jobs that are planned months in advance, parts that are machined in multiples of weeks; but in Q.C. we are measured in hours and minutes, so it is fustrating when you can't get a resolution to your problem on the first phone call, but they do call back.
