  • Looping and SPCLight

I'm using pc-dmis v3.7mr3 + SPCLight and planning to switch to v42 sooner.

I have a mould which is producing 4 parts in the same time ( i do not know how you call it in English).

I wrote a part program to inspect the main measurements. I put loop commands at the beginning and at the end of part program.

My problem is , I want to send each part's result individually to SPCLight software but I do not know how I can manage the parts (the first part's results should go to M1_CHART , 2nd part's results should go to M2_CHART ...) .

If it is not possible to do this with spclight , could you show me a way ?

    TIA

    West

I'm not sure how SPCLight works. But when you loop programs you need tracefields. I have QC-Calc and everytime I want a section to be sent to a different database I invoke the "DBSWITCH" command in the tracefields to achieve this.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

I think a big question here is this -

How are you getting the data from PC-DMIS to SPC light right now? Are you using the XSTATS11.TMP file? Are you using an RTF file and parsing through it?

We need the answer to this question to decide how to modify your process to do what you want. . .

Yes we would need to know how data is being transfered to your SPC software. The DBSWITCH command for the tracefields might be QC-Calc specific.

Is it possible to change it so you don't have to loop it?

SPCLight is made by Lighthouse which uses the XSTATS11.TMP file generated in Datapage format. You would need to contact LH to see how determine the part name. My guess is that it uses the part name in the file which is placed there by pcdmis. You may be able to modify this by:
            1) using a bat file to change the part name via automation
            2) putting the STATS/ON command inside the loop which is excuted after the bat file changes the name
            3) restore the part name - again via automation
            4) not sure if you would need to perform a STATS/UPDATE before the LOOP/END or not.

The DBSWITCH trace is probably QC specific.

I'm using Lighthouse System-SPCLight's "PCD Client Server" and "SDD Server" applications to transfer results.

Of course , I'm using STATS/ON and STATS/OFF commands on my part program.

At the end of loop , the system hangs for 40seconds to transfer the results to the chart as defined in "Client Server".

                Hi WestHell

are you already update dpudate.exe in you SPC light?
                with Lhdpupdate.

                  Hi Bamsek ;

As far as I know , the system is using Dpupdate.exe , but it works automatically , not depend on operator.

                    The 40 second issue:
LH does not return control back to PCDMIS after performing the call to their version of DPUPDATE.EXE. In response to this, wilcox associates have created another exe to use. Grab the zip file from:
                    ftp://ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/FakeDPUpdate/
                    FakeDPUPdate.ZIP.
                    Unzip the files,
                    1) rename DPUpdate.exe supplied from LightHouse to LHDPUpdate.exe
                    2) rename FakeDPUpdate.exe file to DPUpdate.exe

I think this is what BAMSEK is referring to.
