  • Extra Long Ext.

I'm trying to write a program that because of the way it has to sit in the CMM (XCEL 7.6.5) I have to use a star probe (Ø2x10 styli) to reach the diameter I'm trying to measure on 130mm of extension. I've setup the styli & extensions but it will not calibrate in DCC because it has to move out of range. How do I change the clearance in 'Z' for calibration so I can get rid of this problem?

Can you lower your calibration sphere?
    Or use a different sphere.
I used a ball-bearing once to solve a similar problem.
    Lately, it occurs to me
What a long, strange trip it's been.

A different sphere might work because the one I normally use is a set length

There is a setting in the probe util. window, under SETUP for the clearance distance.

Can you remove the sphere from the shaft?
Set it on a 1-2-3 block or something?
