4.1 is working fine for me

I like some of what I see in 4.2, but 4.2 still has some issues

I have both running. I upgraded to 4.2 and reverted back very quickly. I don't yet trust the new GD&T and I don't like the complexity of the reporting vs the return on investment.
In all fairness I still have 4.2 and I will be using it more and more so the jury is really still out on it.

Here is what I wrote to the guy in charge of PC-DMIS testing just today...

I have to say 4.2 is one of the nicest versions you guys have put out in a while. If you continue to build off of what you have in 4.2 the road ahead is going to be really nice and smooth. I know I've "smoozed" enough in the past but it really is nice to work with.

Using 4.2 and I like it. Ok it takes a bit of getting used to, but all change does.

Having said that I have had the time to mess about with it. I appreciate that a lot of you guys don't have that luxury, but as James said in another post " If you are not prepared to learn something new, be prepared to be run over by someone who is"

I like it. Few issues but nothing too big anymore.

v4.1 is working fine. I just had to learn all the new features like editing report templates etc. You should always try and stay up to date on versions

                  I'm running 4.2 dated July 27th,2007.
But today I have my doubts. After working a whole week on a huge program with an equate alignment, I get an error in the true position FCF.
It's stopping me from doing my job, which I take very seriously, like taking care of my family.
If you mess with my Job, your messing with my family, get it?
I think if they can't fix this fast, maybe I will go back to 3.7 and demand 2 years of SMA fees back.

I haven't tried 4.2 yet because of lack of time, but when I do get a chance to, will it print out the old style reports?

Yes it can but you cannot use the new GD & T.

I am running into problems printing the old style reports, as are a few other according to some of the posts on this board. For me 4.2 will make the old style reports, but it will not change the color and "highlight" out of tolerance dimensions, everything comes out in blue no matter what I do.

Wow, coming from Paul (who I think of very highly), that is some pretty impressive commentary.
