  • Thermal expansion of scales

Anyone have any infomation on the coeffienct of thermal expansion of the scales on an xcel or global machine? The people I've contacted so far at Hexagon aren't even sure what I'm talking about.

That is going to be tough to nail down. Do you have glass scales? Google "coefficient of thermal expansion glass" But, those glass scales are glued to metal or granite so they may not behave like a piece of glass just sitting there.

The glass has double sided tape between the granite/aluminum and the glass. That way they behave like regular glass or 6ppm/degree C.

there should not be any expansion or contraction as long as your environment is temp controlled......

I don't suppose you could point me in the direction of some documentation of that? That would make life a lot easier right now.
