I am brand new to the PC-DMIS software in Greensboro NC. My background is working with the Zeiss CMM and Calypso software which seems to be a little more user- friendly. I have been following the manual step for step and have accomplished in writing a test program. However, when I go to run the program, a fault appears and tells me that the parameters are out of tolerance. I have tried what little I know about this software and nothing seems to work. I need some help here.

Does it say Machine Parameters Out of Tolerance?
It could be that you have an alignment issue.
Also, if your part is to close to the edges of the measurement envelope, this will come up.
Can you post the beginning of your code?When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.

It sounds like you might be defining a feature or move point that is out of the machine tolerance. Like John K. said, you could be too close to the measurement envelope. There is a soft zone where you can manually move your probe but dcc won't allow due to safety precautions.I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

We were talking more to the edge of the machine. View your graphics display and see that all features are located appropriately around the datum.
When you get the error, and cancel the program, a red arrow should appear next to the feature in question. Double check that feature to see that the x,y,z locations are correct.I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

I just copy and pasted and this is what I got. I took 3 hits on the top plane, 4 hits on circle 1, 2, 3, and 4. Then did an alignment for the last 3 circles. Set my speeds and clearance planes and that was it. I dont why it didnt post that way

Why don't you try that again. This time wrap what you past in [code][/code] tags. That way it will look more like pc-dmis looks. Start by highlighting from the start of your program to the end, copy it and paste it.
ie, when you post make it look like the following.

Your code looks all funny. The bit that posted at the end should be right up at the top of your program.

Then it loks like you recall an alignment but it is not established? That will put zero back up to machine zero. Virtually anything you try to check from there will give you a parameter error.
I would:
Measure PLANE
LEVEL and TRANSLATE to PLANE
Meaure Datum Circle
TRANSLATE X and Y to CIRCLE
Measure Rotation Circle
ROTATE to Rotation Circle
You do not HAVE to do the alignment commands imbedded in the features like this. You can measure all the features you need then do the alignment. But, you must have an alignment set before you try to Define and Measure anything.
