  • Saving a Report

    Ok,
    Got the program done, (thanks to you terrific folks), and I'm putting the finishing touches on the report.
    I will need to print out the report, but I will much prefer to e-mail it off as its own file....
    How do I make the report it's own file, and keep it segregated for e-mailing?

    (and a second question for extra credit: Is there a "Cover Sheet" in the templates, that I could use? Or do I have to create one?)

      This is what I use, saves the file automatically with a sequence # using the program name, can be pdf or rtf. Email as attachments.

      PRINT/REPORT,EXEC MODE=END,$
      TO_FILE=ON,AUTO=4,$
      TO_PRINTER=OFF,DRAFTMODE=OFF,$
      TO_DMIS_REPORT=OFF,FILE_OPTION=INDEX,FILENAME=C:\P CDMISW\L0056144AA, 03 - JIM SEARING - 1-31-06.dmo,$
      REPORT_THEORETICALS=NONE,REPORT_FEATURE_WITH_DIMEN SIONS=YES,$

        This is the first "program" I wrote "officially" for a production part that needed a First Article.

        This plate with 500 holes, generated 48 pages of data. I never was sucessfull at creating the .pdf (took too long and I had to leave), or the hard copy.

        The RAM was insufficient in the HP PC that came with the machine, to give me a hard copy, in any reasonable timely fashion.

        The RAM and Video Card provided are woefully undersized for the task.

        God help me when I have to do a 12-page print for a more complex part!!
