  • Watchdog fault!!

In the execution mode options window I'm getting a machine error "PDF: Watchdog Fault" I have to reboot the CMM to get it started again. This is happening during the calibration routine at A:100 Deg.

Anybody know whats happenin or how it can be fixed?

What kind of head are you using? PH10M for example hasn't an A100 Deg. closest to that is A97.5 Deg

      It's a PH10M and you are right it's a 97.5 angle.

It means in order to keep the Pcdemons at bey, you need to tie a German shepard (or a large dog of your choice) to the dongle key

Do you have a large extension built onto your PH?

Me thinks I get one when the air is low??

It wasn't the degrees I had 97.5 the whole time.

I don't have a large extension on my PH and I don't know that the air is a problem but I need to look at it.

It seems like it trips the error when it tries to make the positive Z axis movement.

I did put in a requisition for a German Shepard.

Might be that your gram setting on your ph#(whatever you use) is too low?
Could also be your scale is dirty?

Turn your speeed down and see if it does it. I had a belt go bad and it did the same thing, but it would do fine running slow

I thought it might that my scale is dirty. But I just did throttle the speed back to 50 and it seems to make it through the moves it was getting hung up on.

I'm going to give the once over on cleaning and see how she performs.

Did a tech have to service the worn belt?

I had the same problem on the Z axis of a DEA Tyhoon. Turned out it was the encoder was going bad.

Couple a grand.. encoder was something I've heard could cause such irritating problems. I didn't think it cost that much though.

I have no idea of the cost. Everything was on a purchase order - straight to the bean counters
