Does anyone know if I can import a CAD model (parasolid) with an extension of .a x_t? I can't find anything in the drop down list. I'm thinking I may need to convert it to a .stp or .igs file. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Yes that will have to be converted to .step or .iges.
