  • Setting a time between hit

    Does anyone know if or how you can pause between each hit and select the amount of minutes. I have a part that is not stable and I need to wait until the part is stable again to touch off. I have adjusted the force to the minimum.

    This sounds crazy but as of right now this is the best method we have. So in order to set a part up and start measurment and just let it go I need to set a specific time between each hit.

    Any help or information would be great !!

      This is a spring that we have under a 20 lbs load. We want to verify the spring under load and this is the only method we have. So it would be harder to constrain the part where it sits under the actual load.

        I dont know if there is a built in function for waiting a specified time period, but you could write the current time to a file and the use a DO/LOOP to read that time comparing it to NOW and then proceeding when wait period has elapsed.

          Oh i see.....I will play with it while im at the machine. I know it can be done i had a friend that used this for a stability study on plastic parts. Im thinking he used systemtime in the windows format (a number) then used if/then to keep looping until the criteria has been reached lilke a variable that = systemtime + 180

            What J said. Every hit will need to be it's own feature.

              I have no idea on how to use the time function. Can anyone give me an example or where to find this information.

                SYSTEMTIME("hh':'mm':'ss")

                  Where did you find that??

                  I think a script would be necessary

                  Sub Main

                  x = Time$(Now)

                  Print x

                  End Sub

                    script program for time delay that I have from Adrian Hill

                    Rem:To Write a simple basic script program And Then just Call it from your Pc-Dmis program just after your Move To command Line.
                    Rem:The script might look something like this (For PC-Dmis V3.2063):
                    Sub main
                    Dim TimeStarted
                    Dim TotalTime
                    Dim TimeDelay
                    MsgBox "A 10 Second pause will start once you click OK"
                    TimeStarted = Timer
                    TimeDelay = Timer + 10
                    Do
                    TotalTime = TimeDelay - Timer
                    If TotalTime < 0 Then
                    MsgBox "10 seconds has now elapsed"
                    Exit Do
                    Else
                    End If
                    Loop
                    End Sub
                    Rem:Regards

                        I use it all of the time. Ever since I gave up on Datapage I write all of my data to text files comma delimited. It works and it works well.

                        Code:
                        SYSTEMDATE("MM'/'dd'/'yy") + "," + SYSTEMTIME("hh':'mm':'ss tt")
                        works like a charm

                            That is PCDMIS syntax

                            Check the help file but use the find tab type in system it should find it.

                              OK J sorry. It is real easy to find with 3.2063 help file it is under system.

                              I just checked the 3.7 help file and it is under string functions

                              Try that
