Open any program then w/ that one still open, open the program you want in offline mode. There are probably slicker ways to do this but it works.

What are you trying to achieve by coding to open a program offline?

Why would you want to do that? What is the goal?

You can change to manual mode.
I can see wanting to turn the servos off in a program...

My goal "if it can be done" is to walk from one open program to a newly created program without closing either one.

IF you are using V3.5 or older, you can make an OFFLINE version of Pcdmis on your PC. Copy the install directory and then re-name the INTERFAC.DLL file to anything. Then, THAT Pcdmis will only open in OFFLINE mode.

There is a drop-down on the FILE-OPEN pop-up that you can change from CMM to OFFLINE

                stolen from the 4.1 manual;

                1. Access the directory where the PCDMIS
                executable shortcut is located
(generally this is located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
                Menu\Programs\PCDMIS
                for Windows).
                2. Rightclick
in the directory and select New | Shortcut.
                3. Follow the onscreen
instructions to have the shortcut point to where the PCDMIS
executable, pcdlrn.exe, is located (wherever you installed it).
                4. Add any of these command line switches (or arguments ), following the shortcut's
                full path to the executable:
                /f for offline mode

NOPE, that can not be done. If a program is opened ONLINE it stays ONLINE and if a program is opened OFFLINE it stays OFFLINE.

Only thing I can think of that will help you is creating a VB script to achieve this. You can select the programs you want to run and code it to close the current program and open the next one. It can be done using VB script.
