What is the difference between PC-DMIS CAD and CAD++?

Seriously, the difference IS money, but it is also the number of different features you can measure. CAD++ has ALL the possible feature types that PCdmis ca measure as AUTO FEATURES. The CAD version will have the 'basics' and will NOT be able to run the more advanced features that teh CAD++ has, even if YOU get a program from someone else. Also, it will NOT warn you that there are features it can not measure when that happens. You find you the hard way, usually, with a loud CRASH fromteh table.sigpic

Ok.
Now another question regarding the other post I put on here about the customer's program from V3.2. It looked good when ran offline but more than likely won't run on my Pfx's running CAD++....
Is that a strong possibility?Xcel & MicroVal Pfx & Global 37mr4 thru 2012mr1sp3

Other than the migration-effect, it should be OK. THe migration-effect is something VERy specific to Pcdmis, it seems. No matter which way you migrate a progam, up versions or down, there always seem to be some features/dimensions that just don't work right anymore.sigpic

No Slot.
Plus, the points are limited to Vector Point. You have to do a regular Measure Point to get a surface point or edge point. Extreme point is not available.
Plane is limited to Vector Plane. I don't know if ++ give you an offset plane or not.Bill Jarrells

I don't intend on adding anything extra to the program. Just want to tweak in points so the are symmetrical to each other and vector directions relative to CAD surfaces. programs are not big but I know the vector for 41° isn't 1,0,0....Xcel & MicroVal Pfx & Global 37mr4 thru 2012mr1sp3

We can Construct other features such as Slot, Curve, and Surface. Of course there are the scans.
My understanding is that the biggest diff is the Sheet Metal FunctionsBill Jarrells
