Uh-oh. This is the one I had in 4.0 and 4.1. I have not had it in 4.2, so I guess I was getting a little excited too early.

    I have never found a solution for this. Just back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up, and then again back-up and save.

    did I mention back-up????

It is sad but unfortunately the only remedy.

I believe serialization error is caused because your computer is not connecting to your controller properly. I would shut down everything including the controller, restart, and rehome the CMM. Did your CMM crash before this serialization error?
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

no, it did not crashed. I finished one program and then saved it, in the middle of saving software crashed. Now, nothing, start from Zero

I had this on my off-line station (in 4.1 and 4.0). Not connected to anything.

I think that I did find one thing that may have made it worse and that is copying and pasting from other programs. If I start a new program and I copy and paste pieces in from another program (using CTRL_C and CTRL_V), I think those programs may be more prone to this problem. After I started to suspect that this might have something to do with it, I have never attempted to do that. I just create everything over again. Maybe that made it less in my case??

Other then that, I have not found any hint that may make this situation better. It is ridiculous that we have to content with this. pcdlrn errors is one thing, but losing complete programs is another.

What type of machine, controller? Can you cite your specific computer hardware/software?

I ask because I know that some machines/controllers have given HEZXAGOON some real problems. I do believe the Mitutyo brand was one. Sheffield was another, but I think thats getting better. The improvement might be because ******** now owns Sheffield?
