If a cad file axis' is not oriented the same way as the pc dmis is there a way to change the axis or do you have to redo the axis in the cad file itself?

I believe what you are asking for is a Part = CMM thats in the " Edit, Preferences,Setup,Part/CMM. In Part/CMM go to Part Setup and change axis's. Place part on the CMM the way you want it, then put the cad on the screen so you can tell the CAD axis's to the Machine Axis's Is that clear to you?
