Anyone ever had a problem with PC-DEMON locking up at the tip command. I have a new fixture alignment program I just wrote yesterday that hangs up at the tip command. It worked fine yesterday. Mitutoyo Bright A710 PC-Dmis 3.5mr2

YEP. all the time. And, I'll bet it is at the start of the program, isn't it? And, I'll bet it was also trying to change the tip angle while it was moving too. This rotate-while-moving was something that was added in V3.5 as a way to let the machine work quicker, it is only an option for some controllers, however, it crept into a lot of others as well, all with no way to shut it off. To fix it, all you need to do is click on STOP in the execute window, then click on continue.
Yeah Matt, I tried that and it still just sits there. I have gotten the program to work but I have to shut down and restart. It happens at the beginning of the program in manual mode, so there is no move command. I got it to work once using stop and continue only to have it lock up at the next tip change which was in automatic mode with a move command before the tip change. There have been other problems with the PC-DMIS to Mitutoyo interface, I think this is another one.

Well, mine is on the Sharpe32 controller and so far (knock on wood) clicking the STOP then CONTINUE has worked everytime. It took a bit to get it figureed out, way back when I started using V3.5 (still no MR) but once I did, it has been a 'simple' fix just about everytime I run a program. I do not recall it ever happening while strictly in manual mode, I think mine has always shown up on the first move/tip when entering DCC. I have been playing with V3.7 MR3 for a couple weeks, not on any customer parts, but on a bunch of little doohickies I am making for the CMM, and it has not once done this little tip-lock~move-lock thing.
Have you checked to see if Wilcox and an updated 'driver' for your controller? I have never looked myslef, but I have read here and the on the other that there are updated controller drivers that have sometimes solved some of the bug problems.

Try calling Troy Sprague at (248) 449-9400. He is sharp. He is a Browne and Sharpe Installation Engineer. He retrofitted The Wenzel with PC-DMIS and it runs great. If he doesn't have your answer, he will pass it to somebody that will work on the issue for you.
