  • Re Measure?

    I have a situation popping up occasionally.
    I wrote a basic prg. I do the iterative alignment manually, then again in dcc and another iterative alignment. Then I measure two slots. Since this is a CPK prg, I do the first part 100%, then unmark the manual alignment to save time. All works well, until the 1 in 30 has some stupid issue where the cmm loses it's location. The styli crashes into the part. Luckily I have the TP20,,lmao So, I close the prg out, to find a window "Do you want to remeasure points now?" It hasn't even touched the part!!! or done the first alignment!! Then the screen shows the part and the measured features way out. So, I opened the previous report, expecting to see the measurables way out,,,,nope. All good. Not that this is a problem,,,,I'm just curious as to what gremlin causes this.

    Why are you doing 2 interative alignments. It sounds like when you do your 2rd its overwriting your dcc alignment

        In addition, i have ran the same alignment scheme on the 2, 10 pc layouts...it is a two out die,,,identical parts and ran two 30 pc cpk studies on the flatness,,,no prbs....which was before the 4th holiday. Then today,,,,it has the issues......now that I'm checking slot loc instead of flatness.

          Is the part fixtured so you can put a loop right after your interatice alignment.

            I thought about looping,,,,but it may cause an issue with my cpk software,,,since I'm not using datapage. Looping would be great, but I have the part on a mag v block,,,,it is fairly accurate about locating,,but not good enough for this application without an alignment.

              Ok.........have you tryed shutting everything down & restarting & re qualifying....sometimes that helps me when it goes wackey

                Ya,,,,and it has not happened again,,,,,so far. The interesting thing about all of this,,,,,is during the normal operation of this prg.....it never asks to re measure. It does however give the "position probe at feature,####" then remeasures. So, why do something different then crash for no aparent reason????? It is definately not the strangest occurance in PC DMIS land.

                  mag v block + TP20 = not good
                  If the magnetic field is strong enough the TP20 will be disabled
