I've noticed that when my report prints in text mode and it ends before the end of the sheet , that there is a very slight tinted color on the remainder of the report . It used to spin it it after the text part was complete but now I have to wait for it to complete that light film of color ., Is there any way to turn that feature off? I dont use - print back ground colors
4.2 reporting

Hi Allen,
I think I may have a solution for you. I suspect the background color you are seeing is the light-green tinted background color used by the TextReportObject. Note that turning off background colors by clearing the check box in File | Printing | Report Print Setup will not fix this particular issue.
Here's something that might work:- Open up the template you're going to change in the report template editor (File | Reporting | Edit | Report Template). Remember, standard templates need to have the Read-Only protection removed if you're going to be editing them directly.
- Once the file opens, select the TextReportObject that's already in your template.
- Right-click on it to display its properties.
- Select Colors property. A message box may appear asking if you want to define a color set different from the application set. Click Yes. The Color Editor dialog box appears. In the Background Color area you will see that it already shows it being a white color. But you'll need to change it anyway.
- Click Edit in Background Color and the Color dialog appears. Change it to white again. Click OK to close down Color dialog and OK again to close down the Color Editor. The green tint should now be gone.
- Save your template, redraw your report, and reprint.

Jared
I have tried this in both 4.1 and 4.2 and still the "background" color has a slight tint to it
4.1 is a faint yellow
4.2 is a faint mint green
ok...now I just tried changing it to another color just for fun....same results and same colors as before.
there must be something else going on, maybe another template that is being called up that we aren't aware of???
any other suggestions?

Hi Bob. Since this works for Snaggy I would imagine it should work in your case as well. Did you remember to remove the read-only property on the template file you're modifying? If you don't remove this property any changes you make to the standard templates will not be saved and the original color scheme will be used.
To remove this, right-click on the file inside Windows and select Properties to and then clear that check box. Then make and save your changes.Jared Hess - PC-DMIS Documentation Team Lead @ HMI

Hi Bob,
I think there's another component in that same template that may need to be set to a white background as well. I was running into an issue where my first page of my report was a white background (as specified) but another page wasn't.
After poking around, I noticed that there is a Report object (a somewhat hidden object used by PC-DMIS), and it also has a Color property. I'm not entirely sure of the Report object's purpose. But since it cannot be deleted, it seems to be an integral part of report templates. Somehow part of my report was using that object's color scheme instead of the TextReportObject's.
So, see if this works. Follow the same steps I gave earlier, and in addition to changing the TextReportObject's background to white, select the Report object and change it's Color scheme to have a white background as well. Then Save and retry.
Hopefully that gets around this issue.Jared Hess - PC-DMIS Documentation Team Lead @ HMI
