  • Checking bolt circle without head clearance

I,m looking for any suggestions, for checking a bolt pattern 5 inches deep, with out any clearance for the head. I,m using a Renishaw MIP manual head. I tried using approx. 5 inches of extensions, but do to the length X & Y coordinates are coming way out of tolerance. The hole sizes are approx. .200.

I have a 15 inch dia. c'bore & at the bottom of the c'bore I have dia. 14.318 b.c.. I have no room to get the head past the side of the wall to do the features.

Is the BC through holes? If so can you put the part on it's side and measure the co'bore from one side and the BC from the other side? Is the probe a MIH8? Or is it a non-repeatable head?
