Is there a way to simply write and update code in Pc-dmis without the code beneath it changing?

More clearly speak you should. If understand you I do:
You want to change an alignment without all the code
further down in the program changing too? When it asks
if you want to update/change tell it NO. This applies to
changes made in features and dimensions as well. HTH
(Hope This Helps) If not, please post an example.

P.S. The demon does not like it if you fool with it's alignments
after there is code down below. It tends to crash, so save a
    backup copy first.

you can also add a "recall alignment" statement in between where you want to add code and where you don't want changes to occur
Which one gets ridden today? MPH vs MPG..tough choice, both are FUN

Modifying alignments in mid-prog is like having Clint Eastwood pointing a S&W .44" at your head and saying "do you feel lucky?".

Sometimes it works beautifully...other times, well... hope you weren't in a hurry.
