  • Problem after importing an iges

I am having a problem after Importing an Iges file. The model is fine to begine with but after I bring it into PC-DMIS a couple of the holes are messed up. I can see where the hole is but when I try to program a hit inside the hole it can go in there unless I manualy do it. Its kinda like there is a film over the hole or something to that effect.

    any Ideas

    Thanks

Are you in surface mode? Might need to click the hole a bit farther away from it instead of clicking inside the circle.

well the film maybe an extra surface you can move it to a different level or delete it. Or the igs file just didn't translate well. You can change you import settings and try to import it again to see if that helps.

Click an area just on the outside of the hole. Instead of inside the hole.

Sounds like a few surfaces went to chit when you imported the model. I've run into that before, and used another software (Solidworks) to regenerate the .igs file. After that, the demon imported it just fine.

I use Unigraphics (Or I-Deas). When you click your model to export it, a menu pops up that tells you to select the flavor....Since Chocolate isn't on there, it's best to go with Unigraphics.

Pick outside the hole and then tell PCDmis in the autofeatures dialog that it's a hole and not a stud.

                    iges,

I had this problem when upated from 3.5 to 3.7 ,
you can delete these EXTRA surfaces. or ask Cad support people IN YOUR COMPANY to send you cad file in ( step format).

                    A DISHO
