    Typically, I see a 1,0,0 or 0,1,0 or 0,0,1 (or some variant) for surface point angle vectors but -1.0000014,9563018.0731566,0.0000004. Nine Million!!

    Code:

    PNT157     =FEAT/CONTACT/EDGE POINT,CARTESIAN
                THEO/<50.05,86.786,0>,<-1.0000014,9563018.0731566,0.0000004>,<0,0,1>
                ACTL/<50.05,86.765,-0.158>,<-1,0,0>,<0,0,1>
                TARG/<50.05,86.786,0>,<-1,0,0>
                EDGE_REPORT=<0,0,1>,SURFACE_REPORT=0,0,1
                MEASURE ORDER=SURFACE
                SHOW ADVANCED MEASUREMENT OPTIONS=NO
                SHOW_CONTACT_PARAMETERS=YES
                  DEPTH=0.5
                  SAMPLE HITS=1,SPACER=1,INDENT1=3
                  AVOIDANCE MOVE=BOTH,DISTANCE=10
                  ONERROR=YES
    I think this came from a scan. Has anyone else seen this? It's screwing up my T value.

    Did you pull that off CAD, sample it or just type it in?

      Man 212 that crashed my calculator when I did the inverse cosine of it. PCDMIS is now crashing calculators. Will it never end?

      I've never seen a vector over 1 it does not work as far as cosines go.

        did you pay your SMA on the calculator software yet?? You know you have to keep that up to date to get the latest bug free calculator software. Remember 2+2 does not always add up to 5

          I did not write the program but based on how nicely the points are spaced out I assume that it was a scan that was output to points from cad. The operator who wrote it was complaining about the best fit alignment results. I looked into it and found all of the points have this issue.

            You know I'm getting tired of hering about all these calculators that are "crashing". Maybe it's the operator huh?
            This entire response is meant to be funny ha ha.

                I've seen that if the scan hits an "open seam" between two surfaces, but you say it is all the points. I say deport 'em.

                  If you can't report it you must deport it.

                      I figured out what he did to get the wierd vectors. He did a perimeter scan and selected "to points". I was able to duplicate it. FYI
