  • Fly Mode on Sheffield

Is there a way to activate Fly Mode on a shefield? I am using CORDAX RS-115 DCC.
    Thanks,

It's either your controller can do fly mode or not. My previous two Sheffield Discovery's did not support fly mode.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

Do you have a SMP 350 controller or SMP 400? A guy that reps. for Sheffield told me that he thinks the SMP 400 controller would allow this.

An RS115, unless retrofitted, would have an MP35.

I dont think the got fly mode working on the SMP400. There is the new controller that they are using on the B&S (SMP360?) that may support circular motion(fly mode)

              SMP 350.
Still, with MeasureMax 6.53 the CMM does pretty well. No waiting at corners. Just the PC DMIS. Hmm.

The reason MeasureMax does not wait at the corners is because of MoveTolerance settings in the controller. PCDMIS does not know what that is and cant set or reset it to take advantage of it. You cant open it up for PCDMIS either because then you would start clipping corners.

Since they own Sheffield, you would think that they could exploit that capability... especially since they will now be using the Sheffield controllers(UMP3XX, I think) on the ONE and other B&S CMMs.

                  Baby steps?

Let 'em get the Sheffield controllers to work properly with the DEMON and then go on to the other stuff.
I am so sorry oh great HEXAGON for even thinking you could have an issue with anything you do.

Fly mode doesn't work on Starrett machines either!

What do you mean by the DEMON?
