  • Let's Compare

I have gotten the approval to get quotes on a new vertical CMM. I am looking at Brown and Sharpe and Sheffield. Probably around the 24x24x18 range. Can someone give me some advise on what kind of machine to get? Or direct me to a previous thread.

Yeah...We have 3 of them! One of them is a 1986 manual machine! Getting some age to her. I guess if we looked at this as they do cars it would be a CLASSIC now! Still does well though. Plus our workload is picking up tremendously! Not sure if they are planning on replacing the old one or adding a 4th one.

If you're gonna buy new, look at where you are now and where you may be in 5 years and buy one that fits your 5 year plan the best.

Our one Starrett is 8 years young...wish I had another one

we have one B&S Microval manual w MM II Plus
wish this one would become a boat anchor...needs to be used with TLC...but it does OK

I just glad the the Starrett is DCC and we upgraded a year and a half ago to the newer Starrett/Renishaw controller and PCDMIS....I don't miss Apogee v1 at all

          Take care
