  • B&S Official Release of v4.2

Has anyone heard when B&S will issue and mail out an official CD release of PC DMIS v4.2?

If your desk is wobbling I can send you 3.5, 3.5MR1, 3.6, 3.7, 3.7MR1, 3.7MR2, or 4.0! ( I actually have two copies of that last gem)

B&S typically does NOT send maintenance releases to their user base. You usually have to download them from the Wilcox site.

This may have changed, but if it has, it's been receint.

You are correct Bill. They will send you a disc if you call and request one, but they only mail the major releases to everyone with an SMA.

Last I heard (5/30/07) from our B&S distributor they are still evaluating 4.2.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

BUT, according to a Wilcox/B&S/Hexagon-Employee, V4.1 and V4.2 are NOT maintenance releases. Whomever it was said that V4.1 is NOT an MR of V4.0 and that V4.2 is not a MR of either V4.1 or V4.0. This was posted AFTER I said that B&S/Wilcox was going back to the method of using JUST numbers for the versions and no MR, I was then 'corrected' in that they are still keeping with the MR method, but that no MR was made for V4.0 and none was planned for V4.1. So, ARE they still using the MR method or have they gone back to the numbers-only method (IE V3.206, 3.2063, etc.)?

This is all news to me. If things stay the way they were with DLing maintenance releases, I'll NEVER upgrade (upgrade what a laugh) past 3.7 MR3 because IT won't allow me to DL and the initial releases are total junk and I refuse to load them so I'll stay with this working copy that was installed by the calibration teck the last time they were here.

              Thanks Matt....
