  • Intermittant Hasp problem

A new place and a new machine to deal with. Its a pfx 4-5-4,running version PC DMIS 3.7. We seem to have quite a few power outages here and it seems after every one I have this problem starting up PC DMIS.I get a Hasp not found, make sure its connected to your computer.
On the last system I used I found the Hasp connected to a Usb port on the computer.
I can't find it anywhere! Where could it be and what might I do to fix this problem?

Is the hasp in the PRINTER PORT (LPT1)? That is where mine is, it is OLD and predates the USB ports.

I'd strongly consider getting a UPS for the computer - but then you probably already thought of that. That should solve your problem and keep you from losing work. If management doesn't want to cough up the $$ tell them that everytime it crashes you lose at least 10 min. of productive work time plus anything that you may have done since your last ctl+s. They should figure out pretty quick that a UPS is going to save them money in the long run. I mean, click the link above. That one is only $40. Even though it may not last too long, it should give you enough time to save and shutdown. If the power is usually back up pretty quick you may not even need to shut down.

      So... do you like beer?
